Find The Support You Need
Our group therapy sessions meet each week for 2.5 hours. Some of our groups are closed to new members, for example our group for women affected by the menopause runs for eight weeks and members attend each session. Other groups are managed in such a way that new members can be introduced as appropriate. Usually groups run with between eight and twelve members. Group work gives the opportunity to use the emotional connections that occur between members to raise awareness of one’s own personal processes. With this awareness comes the opportunity to make choices, to accept a situation or to structure and manage change. Our groups have two facilitators and we place an emphasis on individuals feeling safe and inspired to be able to express their feelings and needs.
If you are interested in joining any of our groups just call or text us on 07401114421 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Better still why not call in and speak with us directly.
We are currently running the following groups:
Women affected by the menopause
The menopause often comes at a time when women are affected by all sorts of other changes. For example, children leaving home, elderly parents having additional needs, relationships entering a new phase, health scares and so on. On top of this, some women feel overwhelmed by the effects of the menopause. This group offers women the chance to share their personal experiences in a safe and supportive environment. The emotional connections that are made within the group, form the foundations that can be used to explore personal processes and help support this important phase in a woman’s life. The group will spend the first half of each session in a therapy, group process. The second half will offer the opportunity for practical, solution focussed strategies, to help manage this time in a woman’s life.
We recognise that anxiety can affect every aspect of a person’s life and can be a barrier to experiencing fulfilment and happiness. This group provides a unique opportunity in which members are supported to begin to explore and voice their anxieties and experiences. Our group has an emphasis on members feeling completely safe and in control of their own journey and level of participation.
